What is the
FLYERS HOLIDAY CARE PACKAGE DRIVE?

The 8th grade class at Norwood Norfolk Middle School is conducting their Flyers Care Package Drive.  This is a community service project conducted as part of their class work on effective written and spoken communication and persuasive techniques used in both.

They will write business letters, brochures, speeches and create posters to encourage the community, school faculty and staff and students in other grades to donate to the project.  In addition to in class assignments, they will all spend 2 hours collecting food and other items at local grocery stores.

The project’s goal is to provide each recipient with a care package of non-perishable food and household necessities.  Our hope is that by providing a substantial supply of pantry and household staples, the recipients will have some extra room in their budget for special holiday expenses.  We understand that some seniors have to make decisions about what to fit into their budget; sometimes they must decide between food and prescriptions or bills and other necessities.  We want to provide a healthy supply of food, so nobody must go without this holiday season.

If you have any questions about this project please contact Heidi McCasland at 353-6631 at Norwood Norfolk Middle School or fill out the reply form to the left and hit the submit button.
